Is it hot in your home or business?
There are a couple of things you could try that might save you a service call:
- Have you changed your filter? A dirty filter can seriously compromise your unit's ability to work efficiently.
- Turn your unit off and reset your breaker. Power outages, power surges or bad weather could cause your unit not to run as it should. If you are not familiar with your breaker box, DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS. Call a professional.
- If you're still not comfortable, call us and let us come take care of it for you.
Maintenance is key!
- Change your filters monthly or more often if you have pets NO MATTER HOW DIRTY THEY APPEAR. The brand of filter doesn't matter nearly as much as how often it is changed.
- Keep the area around your outside unit free of tall grass and debris. It is important that airflow not be restricted.
- Consider having your coils professionally cleaned once a year. Dirt accumulates in the delicate fins and should be removed by a professional.
- If you have access to your drain line, keep it clean and flushed out as you would any other drain. This can help avoid water damage to your home.
- If you have difficulty with maintaining your unit due to age, physical limitations, or time constraints, call us to sign up for a Maintenance Plan.
It's time to call in a professional!
- If you see that the line leading into your outside unit is "frozen up", set your thermostat to "off" and "fan only" to thaw it out and give us a call.
- If you hear a humming or buzzing with no fan movement, set your thermostat to off and call us.
